Award Ceremony of the Jesenko Awards at the Biotechnical Faculty 2026 / 20.03.2026

On Friday, 13 March 2026, the ceremonial presentation of the Jesenko Awards of the Biotechnical Faculty took place in the Assembly Hall of the University of Ljubljana. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of individuals who significantly contribute to the development of biotechnical sciences and to the advancement of science and society.

During the ceremony, awards of the Biotechnical Faculty were also presented to individuals and institutions whose work significantly contributes to the development of the faculty, strengthens collaboration, and enhances the visibility of biotechnical sciences in the wider social context.

A faculty award was also presented to Prof. Dr Nives Ogrinc for her exceptional contribution to the development of research and educational cooperation between the Jožef Stefan Institute and the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. As an external collaborator for more than fifteen years, she has made an important contribution to strengthening institutional links, transferring knowledge, and integrating the faculty into leading national and international research projects.
