ELME Mobile Unit Presented at Bogataj Protection and Rescue Days 2026 / 25.05.2026

The ELME Mobile Unit from the Jožef Stefan Institute participated in the Bogatajevi dnevi zaščite in reševanja 2026 (Bogataj Protection and Rescue Days), held from 21 to 23 May 2026, the largest Slovenian event in the field of disaster protection and rescue.

At the event in Nova Gorica, numerous national and international organizations, emergency services, research institutions, and equipment manufacturers presented their activities and capabilities in the field of protection and rescue.

The Ecological Laboratory with Mobile Unit (ELME) showcased its capacities for rapid field response to environmental incidents, monitoring of hazardous substances, and support to intervention services in emergencies with environmental impact. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between research institutions, civil protection, and other stakeholders within the protection and rescue system.

Bogataj Protection and Rescue Days traditionally bring together presentations of modern rescue equipment, dynamic intervention demonstrations, expert consultations, and activities for the general public. The event is organized by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief in cooperation with local partners, with the aim of strengthening awareness and preparedness for natural and other disasters.
