Isotopes in precipitation session for the first time at the EMS Annual Meetings / 13.06.2025
Our colleagues from the O-2 department, in collaboration with the HUN-REN Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences (Budapest, Hungary) and the ZRC SAZU Anton Melik Geographical Institute (Ljubljana, Slovenia), are co-convening a session at the Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society (EMS).
The session, titled “Isotopes and Climate Change,” will feature presentations related to isotopic investigations of the atmo-, cryo-, hydro-, and geospheres, focusing on the water cycle and its role in tracing recent and past climate change. It is expected to include 9 presentations. This marks the first-ever session dedicated to isotopes in precipitation at the EMS Annual Meetings. More details about the annual meeting and the session are available online (EMS: https://ems2025.eu/, session “Isotopes and Climate Change”: https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EMS2025/session/54691), while the full event programme will be available after 2nd July.
The conference meeting will take place from 7th to 12th September 2025 at Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The main organizer of the event is the EMS in collaboration with local hosts: Slovenian Meteorological Society (SMD, https://www.meteo-drustvo.si/domov), the Slovenian Environment Agency, and the University of Ljubljana.
Early bird registration is still open until 27th July 2025. The session conveners welcome any interested participants!
