O2 Seminar - 22 October 2025 / 9.10.2025
You are kindly invited to attend the inaugural lecture by dr. Žiga Tkalec titled: Decoding the Metabolome and the Exposome: Integrative Mass Spectrometry Approaches for Biomarker Discovery
🗓 Wednesday, 22 October 2025, at 14:15
📍 O2 Lecture Room and online via Zoom (the same link as for Anja Stajnko’s seminar lecture)
Abstract:
Metabolomics and exposomics offer powerful insights into the interplay between biology and the environment. This lecture will present integrative high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) approaches and their application in clinical research for early biomarker discovery and decoding of environment–health interactions. It will cover analytical strategies for LC-HRMS-based profiling, data-mining and metabolite annotation workflows, as well as interpretation of metabolic pathway alterations in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s disease. Together, these advances drive translational research toward a more holistic understanding of human health.
