O2 Seminar - 22 October 2025 / 8.10.2025

We cordially invite you to the inaugural lecture by dr. Anja Stajnko titled: Human Exposure to Chemicals: exposure determinants, gene–environment interactions, and health impacts.

🗓 Date: Wednesday, 22 October 2025

🕐 Time: 13:00
💻 Location: Online https://zoom.us/j/94990507554?pwd=CAwqS3azlDigfqwpwGu3hTuGDlLHBD.1

In our everyday lives, we are exposed to a variety of chemicals through the food we eat, the water we drink, and the environments where we live and work. These exposures can influence our health throughout the lifespan, from early development to adulthood.

The lecture will present findings from several case studies examining environmental and occupational exposure to chemicals, including metals and organic pollutants, in different human populations (children, pregnant women, adult men, and workers). It will address the factors that determine exposure, the influence of genetic variability on individual susceptibility, and how exposures may impact our genetic and epigenetic profiles, ultimately contributing to disease development.
