The 8th IMEKOFOODS Conference Held in Ljubljana / 26.09.2025

The 8th IMEKOFOODS Conference – “Food Safety and Traceability for a Sustainable Future” – took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 22–24 September 2025, hosted by the Jožef Stefan Institute.

The event brought together more than 120 participants from 18 countries and featured over 100 scientific contributions, including keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations. A dynamic program also included interactive workshops on artificial intelligence in food science, project writing, and EU-wide traceability initiatives.

Conference highlights showcased the latest advances in food authenticity, contaminant detection, nutritional quality, clustering, and sustainable food systems. Excellence in research was celebrated with poster awards presented to Cathrine Terro and Isabel Bastardo-Fernández.

By fostering collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and industry representatives, IMEKOFOODS 2025 reaffirmed its role as a leading platform for exchanging knowledge and shaping the future of food science and metrology.
