Katja Belec / Young Researcher
As part of her doctoral studies in Ecotechnology at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, Katja Belec will investigate the relationships between combined exposure to urban environmental stressors and physical and mental health. Her research will build on data from the Urban Wellbeing study, conducted within the European ENVESOME project, and will focus on improving the understanding of individual exposure to environmental factors and their effects on health.
Her work will integrate questionnaire data, personal and environmental exposure measurements, analyses of biomarkers and geospatial data. Particular emphasis will be placed on participatory approaches, stakeholder engagement, and the development and evaluation of individually tailored recommendations to reduce environmental health risks. The research aims to contribute to more effective preventive measures in environmental health.
