Research areas:

The main research interests of Dr. Sharifi are synthesis of novel materials for environmental applications. During her education, she got a considerable background and experience in a wide range of research fields such as materials synthesis and characterization, photocatalysis, electrochemistry, water treatment, and water splitting as well as computational chemistry. After completing her PhD, she has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at different university/research institute, including the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, University of Zagreb, Ruder Boskovic Institute, where she focused on synthesizing nanomaterials and thin films for water treatment and H2 generation. Recently, she has awarded a MSCA individual fellowship hosted at Jozef Stefan institute to work on development a novel technology based on a hybrid of bio-photo-electrochemical detritiation light-water for tritium separation and simultaneous H2 generation.
